HarperLloyd Recruitment is partnering with a leading independent law firm to appoint an Employment Lawyer (5+ PAE) into its established Brisbane Employment Relations & Safety practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer looking to work on sophisticated matters, take on significant client responsibility and further develop their career within a highly regarded practice.

The role

Working alongside experienced Employment & Industrial Relations Partners, you'll advise a broad range of public and private sector clients across matters including:

• Employment and industrial relations advice
• Disciplinary, performance management and dismissal matters
• Workplace investigations involving misconduct, corruption and code of conduct issues
• General protections, discrimination and reinstatement matters
• Industrial disputes, appeals and tribunal proceedings
• Workplace health and safety and compliance
• Interpretation of industrial instruments and employment obligations
• Strategic workforce and employee relations advice
• Training and presentations on workplace relations issues

The practice has a particularly strong reputation acting for government departments and agencies on sensitive employment and industrial relations matters, while also advising multinational and domestic corporate clients.

You'll have the opportunity to work directly with senior stakeholders, HR teams and legal departments, taking ownership of matters while contributing to a collaborative and well-established team.

About you

You'll ideally have:

• 5+ years' post-admission experience in Employment and Industrial Relations
• Strong experience across both federal and Queensland industrial relations frameworks
• Excellent technical employment law, drafting and advocacy skills
• Experience advising on complex workplace and employee relations matters
• Strong commercial judgement and client management skills
• Excellent communication and attention to detail
• A genuine interest in developing your expertise within employment and industrial relations

Experience acting for government or public sector clients will be highly regarded.
